Rabican, Murgen and Maeldun, left to right. Three of the Nine Avatara leaders of the Light.

Rabican: One of the Nine. A powerful warrior and Avatara of Light Dreams.

Rabican is the Master of Light Dreams and the most vehement in the fight against Balor. He is immensely powerful and yet not powerful enough. He deemed that his own powers of Light needed to be enhanced and so he sought out the Well of Souls and became transformed into a demigod, sacrificing in the process much of his humanity and distancing himself from the other Nine--making him the most powerful wielder of Dreams. Yet it was not enough, for the Ancient Evils and those turned from Light were stronger still. He and Nelarn were the ones who pushed for the idea of bending knee to Alric and serving him.

"As the Well of Souls opened itself unto him, he drew its power into himself, feeding on the lifegiving energies, making himself neigh immortal, a demigod among the Avatara, to mark out those corrupt and evil. Yet still not enough to defeat the Fallen." Rabican was one of the Nine Avatara archmages during the Great War.

He was one of the most powerful and distinguished for it was he who had defeated the Fallen Lord, Shiver, during the Siege of Madrigal. He had been able to defeat her after he was informed of her one weakness, vanity, by the Head.

After his victory, he personally sent The Legion into the ruins of Covenant to retrieve the Total Codex while he took his army to the Cloudspine to deny The Deceiver passage into The Province.

He led his army to hold the pass of Seven Gates against The Deceiver until the snowfall blocked the pass. He was successful in halting The Deceiver's army; however, the eruption of Tharsis proved to be Rabican's undoing as he was ambushed by The Watcher in a stunning surprise attack and was killed, his army annihilated by powerful spells and by the floods in the pass.

Powers

Rabican boasted many powerful light spells. Rabican could create a static aura which fired bolts of lightning at all opponents within a radius, he could use dispersal dreams but with a healing effect, he could cast regeneration on himself or others--healing them completely. His flame of truth spell was a powerful blast of lightning that he used to destroy Shiver, and he could also create a holy white griffon. Beyond all of this though, he was the most physical and adept at hand to hand combat of the Nine.
